Portland Airshow crash

I just got back from the airshow out at the Hillsboro Airport where I go to flight school and witnessed a British jet called the Hawker Hunter crash into a neighborhood. The actual impact was just behind some trees, which I’m a bit thankful for ‘cause I could tell he was going to crash and that he was too low to eject, and even seeing what I could was very upsetting. They obviously stopped the airshow, and after the initial shock pasted I just came home and had a shot of scotch, a double in fact. I fly tomorrow and will fly over the crash site, I’m sure it will be a somber experience As a pilot I know crashing is always a risk, and even a fact of flight, but I had never seen one in person before, I have to say I will forever think a little differently flying now.
Enjoy life!

Wow, that's awful, Niall. Are you feeling ok? Witnessing an accident like that must have been very traumatic. I once saw a really awful car crash and it shook me up for days. Be extra safe on your flight tomorrow.

      Thanks Alexandra,
Yeah, I'm a little tripped out by the whole thing but I’m ok. It turns out that nobody on the ground was hurt, it directly impacted one house and set the two next to it on fire, the lady in the main house wasn’t home and the other people in both other homes were on the opposite side of their houses at the time of impact and got out ok. The pilot on the other hand died on impact.
Like I said I am a little wiggy, but I think flying today will be good for me.
      Thanks again.
